A ZOOM session invitation will be sent to the email used to register before the scheduled exam.
-

We recommend using HamStudy.org to practice the test questions online at no cost.
-
We also recommend using HamBook.org, another free resource that offers a free ebook to read online. (Printed version is also available for a fee.)

The examiners may offer you to take more than one exam in the same session. Once again, we only ask that you have studied for the element you are testing and have been scoring at least 80% on practice tests. The examiners who are testing you are volunteering their time to help you obtain your license; it is rewarding for all of us, the volunteer examiners, to see you pass your licensing exam!

Please email me if you would like to discuss any accommodations. These sessions usually run for 1.5 hours. The exam itself, however, is untimed. If the time does not work for you, please let me know as soon as possible; we can work with you to schedule or reschedule your exam at a convenient time.
There is no fee associated with the licensing exam. However, there will be a $35 fee to the FCC for issuing a new license; upgrades are not charged. You will have ten days to log in to the FCC CORES website and pay the fee from the date you receive your Certificate of Successful Completion of Exam (CSCE) from us; otherwise, your license application may be declined. And, once issued, your license will be valid for 10 years.
Please expect a Zoom link to be sent within an hour of your exam. Please check your spam/junk folder for our email messages and mark them "Not Spam".
We are thrilled that you are interested in a Amateur Radio. Feel free to ask us anything about it!
